Two Weeks, a Million Memories: Japan with Jeff

Two Weeks, a Million Memories: Japan with Jeff

| October 06, 2025

Two weeks in Japan and my heart (and camera roll) are overflowing! Jeff and I packed so much into this trip, and I still can’t believe how many pinch-me moments we had.

We started with the magic of Tokyo Disney — because yes, I’m still a kid at heart. The parades, the food (Mickey-shaped everything), and even the way people line up so politely made it feel like Disney with a Japanese twist. From there, we cheered at a baseball game. If you’ve ever wondered what true fan energy feels like, Japanese baseball has it — organized chants, drums, and more enthusiasm than I’ve ever seen in a stadium.

One of my favorite highlights was sumo wrestling. Sitting in the arena, watching these incredible athletes in a centuries-old sport, you could feel the tradition and respect woven into every match. It was powerful, and honestly gave me chills.

And then there was the quiet side of Japan: exploring gardens, temples, and just soaking in the natural beauty. It was exactly the kind of reset I needed — slowing down, being present, and appreciating the world around me. Sharing that with Jeff made it even more special.

I’m so grateful to my team back home, who kept everything running smoothly while I was gone. Being able to step away and truly recharge is a gift — one that makes me even more energized to dive back in.

Japan reminded me of balance: the joy of play, the thrill of sport, the peace of nature, and the importance of community. I can’t wait to carry those lessons (and maybe a few souvenirs) forward.

Until next time — that’s my take.
